Rostil is a drug intended for people with symptoms of chronic insufficiency of venous circulation of the lower extremities. The active substance of Rostil has a beneficial effect on the tension of the vein walls, prevents blood stasis and the formation of clots. Rostil reduces the permeability of capillaries and increases their strength, prevents the formation of exudates and improves microcirculation. Rostil has a dual action, thus combating the two causes of varicose veins: it seals the walls of the blood vessels and prevents stagnation in the venous vessels.
Composition:
The active substance of the drug is calcium dobezylate monohydrate.
One tablet contains 250 mg of calcium dobezylate monohydrate.
Other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, colloidal silica anhydrous, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, crospovidone.
Dosage:
This medication should always be used as directed by your doctor. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Drug for oral administration. Dosage should be determined according to the severity of symptoms.
Adults 500 to 1000 mg per day. If necessary, the dose can be doubled.
The drug should be taken with a meal.
Action:
The drug reduces the permeability of capillaries, increases their strength preventing the formation of exudates and improving microcirculation.
The drug increases the tension of the vein wall which prevents the formation of stasis and thrombosis in the venous vessels. Increases collagen synthesis, reduces plasma viscosity increasing its flow through peripheral tissues. It has a sealing effect on the vessels within the lymphatic system causing a reduction in swelling, which leads to the cessation of pain and the feeling of heaviness in the limbs.
Indications:
Symptomatic treatment of chronic venous insufficiency.
Diabetic retinopathy.
Contraindications:
When not to take the drug Rostil
- If the patient is allergic to the active substance or any of the other components of this drug.
Side effects:
Like any drug, this medication may cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
The following side effects may occur
Rare (occur in 1 to 10 people in 10,000):
- nausea and diarrhea;
- dizziness;
- drug-induced fever.
Very rare (occur in less than 1 person in 10,000):
- agranulocytosis (a decrease in the number of granulocytes - one type of white blood cell, resulting in greater susceptibility to infection);
- Itchy rash with erythema.
Warnings and precautions:
- Rostil drug contains lactose. If you have previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, you should contact your doctor before taking the drug.
Keep the drug out of sight and reach of children.
Store at a temperature below 25˚C.
Use of other medications:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medications you are currently or recently taking, as well as medications you plan to take.
Use of the drug with food and drink:
The drug should be taken with a meal.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, suspect that you may be pregnant, or if you are planning to have a baby, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this drug.
Do not use the drug during the first trimester of pregnancy. The drug can be used during pregnancy only if the doctor considers it absolutely necessary.
