Argan oil, cold pressed, crude
Extracted from the seeds of the iron argan, one of the world's oldest trees, which is endemic - it occurs only in the southern part of Morocco in an area of 700 thousand hectares, included in the list of UNESCO biosphere reserves.
This oil is called "liquid gold" and is one of the most expensive oils in the world. This is mainly due to its limited availability and time-consuming extraction. The traditional way of producing 1 liter of oil still takes 20 hours and 30 kilograms of fruit are used, which is as much as one tree yields. Thanks to its high content of oleic, linolenic, palmitic and stearic acids, as well as phytosterols and vitamin E, this oil has found a wide range of applications both in health and cosmetics.
In addition, argan oil
- lowers blood pressure and "bad cholesterol" levels,
- reduces the risk of atherosclerosis and heart attack,
- strengthens the immune system,
- supports clotting and blood circulation,
- helpful in fighting rheumatism, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease,
- has a tumor-inhibiting effect,
- commonly known as "youth elixir", because it slows down the skin aging process,
- applied externally, it cures skin lesions such as sunburn, acne, reduces wrinkles and helps fight cellulite,
- it is a wonderful conditioner for dry and damaged hair, reduces hair loss and stimulates hair growth.
Argan oil is an ingredient of many exclusive cosmetics, in which usually there are only small quantities. In stores you can also usually get its cheap alternative, which, however, does not have any beneficial properties, which only 100% natural oil, cold-pressed, unpurified has.
Argan oil is reddish in color. It has an aftertaste reminiscent of peanuts and a characteristic smell. It is sold in a dark glass bottle.
It is recommended to store it in a refrigerator due to the presence of valuable fatty acids sensitive to high temperature. It can serve as an addition to cold dishes and as an irreplaceable cosmetic.
This oil is characterized by: high content of unsaturated fats
The oil is a natural product. Subsequent batches of oil may differ slightly from each other: color, smell and taste. These characteristics do not affect the composition of the oil.
At low temperatures, natural waxes may precipitate from the oil. This is a natural, temperature-dependent phenomenon, fully reversible.
