Deflegmin is a medicinal product with mucolytic action, which improves the transport of lingering secretions from the respiratory tract and relieves wet cough accompanied by sticky secretions.

Composition:

The active substance is: ambroxol(Ambroxoli hydrochloridum).

1 extended-release capsule contains 75 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.

Excipients: sucrose granules, corn starch, shellac, povidone, talc; gelatin capsule: erythrosine (E 127), titanium dioxide (E 171), indigotine (E 132), gelatin.

Dosage:

This drug should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.

- Drug for oral use.

- The drug should not be used immediately before bedtime due to the mechanism of action of the drug.

Adults: 1 capsule per day, in the morning or evening, after eating, drinking a small amount of liquid.

Action:

Deflegmin contains ambroxol in the form of hydrochloride, which has a mucolytic effect - increases the secretion of mucus, improves its transport. The result is easier expectoration. Deflegmin relieves cough.

Indications:

Acute and chronic diseases of the lungs and bronchi that proceed with difficult expectoration of viscous secretions from the respiratory tract.

Contraindications:

When not to use the drug Deflegmin:

- in case of allergy to the active substance - ambroxol hydrochloride or any of the other components of this drug,

- directly before bedtime.

Side effects:

Like any drug, it can cause side effects, although they will not occur in everyone.

Common side effects (in 1 to 10 out of 100 people):

- nausea.

Uncommon side effects (in 1 to 10 per 1000 people):

- abdominal pain, indigestion,

- vomiting, diarrhea.

Rare adverse reactions (in 1 to 10 in 10,000 people):

- rash, urticaria.

Frequency unknown:

- pruritus,

- dryness of the respiratory tract,

- watery nasal discharge,

- heartburn, salivation, dry mouth,

- urinary disturbances.

Warnings and precautions:

- Discuss the use of the drug with your doctor if you have: peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and/or duodenum, impaired liver or kidney function, impaired cough reflex or impaired bronchial ciliary clearance, bronchial asthma.

- If a rash develops, use of the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.

- The drug is intended for adults and comes in the form of extended-release capsules.

- If during the use of the drug (4-5 days), the symptoms have increased or there is a lack of improvement, consult a doctor.

- The drug contains sucrose - discuss the use of the drug with your doctor if you have intolerance to certain sugars.

- The drug contains indigotine, which may cause allergic reactions.

- Store the drug out of sight and reach of children. Store at a temperature below 25oC. Store in the original packaging.

Use of other medications:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently or recently taking, as well as any medicines you plan to take, including those that are dispensed without a prescription.

Deflegmin may interact with:

- certain antibiotics - amoxicillin, cefuroxime, doxycycline (increase in antibiotic concentration in the pulmonary parenchyma)

- antitussive drugs (they inhibit the cough reflex, hinder expectoration; there are contradictory effects).

Use of the drug with food and drink:

Deflegmin drug should be taken after meals and sipped with a small amount of liquid

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

During pregnancy and lactation, consult a doctor before use.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents:

The drug in the form of extended-release capsules should not be used in children and adolescents.
