Mud ointment is a medicine providing relief in so-called rheumatic diseases and in patients after injuries of the musculoskeletal system (including sports injuries).

Composition

In 100.0g of the medicinal product there are: Active substance: 40.0g of aqueous mud extract; Excipients: 0.5g of pine oil; 0.1g of ethyl parahydroxybenzoate; 59.4g of cholesterol ointment (base composition: liquid paraffin, solid paraffin, white petroleum jelly, cholesterol).

Dosage

With a light massage rub small amounts of ointment (about 1-2 cm of ointment squeezed from the tube) into the skin in the area of the affected joints and muscles until absorption. Use 1 to 3 times a day for about 2-3 weeks.

Effect

The main component of the mud ointment is aqueous mud extract and diadermal substrate, thanks to which the biologically active compounds of mud can easily penetrate the skin. This base has a great ability to bind the aqueous mud extract, forming W/O emulsions. The biologically active components contained in the mud water extract are mainly humic acids (humic and fulvic acids) and numerous ions: calcium, magnesium, sodium, bromine, iodine, estrogens, tannins and other valuable microelements. Anti-inflammatory properties of the ointment have been used in treatment of many joint and spine diseases.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the preparation ingredients including ethyl parahydroxybenzoate. Do not apply on damaged skin.
