Description

Sylimarol 35 mg The drug is used as an auxiliary agent in liver diseases.

Composition

The active substances of the drug are:

50 mg of dry extract of thistle husk (Silybi mariani fructus extractum siccum DER 20-34:1, extractant - methanol 90%).

Excipient added to the extract: sodium benzoate.

Moreover, the drug contains the following excipients: glucose, potato starch, sucrose, talc, magnesium stearate, acacia gum, mixture of white beeswax and Carnauba wax (Capol 1295), indigotine El32 and quinoline yellow E104.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 2 tablets 3 times a day at bedtime, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor. The drug requires systematic use for about 2-4 weeks. If the symptoms intensify or persist, contact a physician who may prolong the treatment up to e.g. 6 months. During therapy, avoid substances harmful to the liver.

Sylimarol 35 mg is a traditional herbal medical product for use in specified indications exclusively resulting from its long-term use. It is used as an supportive agent during convalescence after toxic and metabolic liver damage caused, among others, by toxic agents (e.g. alcohol, pesticides) and indigestion (flatulence, belching) after consumption of hard to digest food. Supportive in ailments after acute and chronic liver diseases.

The product is intended for youth above 12 years of age and adults.

Contraindications

When not to apply Sylimarol 35 mg

Do not apply the drug if hypersensitivity to any of the components or hypersensitivity to Compositae/Asteraceae plants exists.

Because of lack of data confirming safety of application, it is not recommended to apply the drug in children younger than 12 years of age.

Undesired effects

As every drug, Sylimarol 35 mg may cause undesired effects, although they will not occur in every patient. Gastrointestinal disorders are possible during application. Mild laxative effects are occasionally observed.

Warnings and precautions

When to take special care while using Sylimarol 35 mg

Consult a physician in case of symptoms of jaundice (yellowing of skin, yellowing of eyes). The drug is not intended for treatment of acute liver intoxication.

Use of other drugs

Inform your doctor about all the recently taken drugs, even those sold without prescription. So far, no interactions with other drugs have been reported.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Because of lack of data confirming safety of application, do not apply the preparation during pregnancy and breast feeding.

Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms

Application of the preparation does not influence the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms.
