Description:

Altacet Gel - A medicine in the form of a gel for bruises and swelling.

Composition:

The active substance of the drug is aluminum acetate 10 mg/g.

Other ingredients are: ethanol 96%, levomenthol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, carbomer, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Dosage:

Adults and children over 3 years of age:

This medication is intended for topical application to the skin. Altacet should be applied to clean, dry skin in painful areas 3 to 4 times a day, at intervals of several hours, preferably in the form of compresses.

Do not apply the drug in an occlusive dressing or wrap the compresses in plastic wrap. Only drying compresses may be applied.

Wash your hands after applying the drug, unless the treatment affects them.

Use with caution in children.

Action:

Altacet is a colorless menthol-scented gel containing the active substance aluminum acetate. When applied on the skin, the drug has astringent and anti-edematous effects, while relieving pain. The auxiliary substance menthol has a local cooling effect.

Indications:

Altacet is applied topically to the skin:

▪️ in bruises

▪️ in joint and post-traumatic swellings

▪️ in edema due to 1st degree burns.

Contraindications:

Do not use the drug Altacet:

▪️ if the patient is allergic to the active ingredient aluminum acetate or any of the other ingredients of this medication

▪️ orally

▪️ in case of extensive wounds

▪️ on damaged skin and areas of skin with visible eczema

▪️ on infected skin

▪️ long term

▪️ in children under 3 years of age.

Adverse reactions:

The excipient methyl parahydroxybenzoate contained in this medication may cause allergic reactions (possible late-type reactions).

As every drug, Altacet may cause undesired effects, although not everybody gets them

Local skin reactions may occur (erythema, pruritus, burning sensation), which usually subside after discontinuation of the drug application.

In case of application of the drug onto large areas of skin, its prolonged or too frequent use, Altacet may cause skin maceration and in hypersensitive individuals - erythematous, papular and granular reactions.

The risk of hyperaluminemia and hypophosphatemia symptoms in case of long-term use in severe renal insufficiency cannot be excluded.

Warnings and Precautionsi:

▪️ Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children

▪️ Store below 25°C

▪️ Do not store in a refrigerator or freeze

▪️ Do not use this medicine after the expiration date on the package

▪️ Do not use this medicine if you notice a change in its external appearance or odor.
