Description
Rutinoscorbin is an oral medication used in states of vitamin C deficiency, in states of increased need for vitamin C (colds, viral infections including flu) and as an auxiliary in excessive vascular permeability.
Composition of
The active substances of the drug are rutoside and ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
One tablet contains 25 mg of rutoside and 100 mg of ascorbic acid.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, sucrose, polyvinyl alcohol, talc, magnesium stearate.
Composition of the package: hypromellose, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide (E171), talc, quinoline yellow (E 104).
Dosage
Prophylactically: 1 to 2 tablets per day.
In states of vitamin C deficiency: 1 to 2 tablets 2 to 4 times daily.
In children under 6 years of age: use as directed by a doctor.
Action
Rutoside strengthens blood vessels and reduces their permeability. It also protects vitamin C from oxidation, so it retains its properties longer.
Vitamin C has an antioxidant effect, is essential for many metabolic processes, participates in the formation of collagen and hemoglobin, among other things, and facilitates the absorption of iron.

Contraindications
Do not take the drug if the patient is allergic to any of the components of the drug.
In people with excessive excretion of oxalic acid, gout, urolithiasis, cystinuria, as well as in states of hypokalemia and hypercalcemia, high doses of vitamin C are not recommended.
Pregnancy and lactation: consult a doctor before using any drug. The safety of use in pregnancy has not been determined.
Side effects
During the use of large doses of vitamin C (more than 600 mg per day) may occur:
- vomiting, nausea,
- hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash),
- diuretic effect
Use of vitamin C together with sulfonamides may lead to precipitation of sulfonamide crystals in the urine.
Vitamin C intensifies the effects of coumarin anticoagulants and paracetamol, increases the absorption of metal compounds from the gastrointestinal tract, mainly iron, may increase the side effects of acetylsalicylic acid.
Warnings and precautions
- Keep out of reach and sight of children.
- Store at temperatures up to 25.degree.C.
