Herbapol - senesa leaf, herbs for brewing in sachets, net weight: 25 g (25 sachets x 1 g)
Herbs for brewing in sachets. For short-term use in constipation occurring occasionally, as a laxative.
Composition:
1 sachet contains 1.0 g of Cassia angustifolia Vahl and/or Cassia senna L. (Cassia acutifolia Delile) folium (senescent leaf), corresponding to 25-30 mg of anthranoid compounds w/p per sennoside B.
Dosage and administration:
The maximum daily dose of anthranoid compounds is 30mg, equivalent to 1 glass of infusion made from 1 sachet. The appropriate individual dose is the smallest dose necessary to achieve soft stools. Adolescents over 12 years of age, adults, elderly: pour 1 sachet (1g) over 1 glass (about 200ml) of boiling water, let stand for 10 minutes. Drink such a warm infusion 1 time a day before bedtime. The laxative effect should occur after about 8 hours, i.e. in the morning after waking up. Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
Duration of use:
Use for longer than 1-2 weeks requires supervision by a doctor.
Usually, use no more than 2-3 times a week is sufficient.
Contraindications:
Inflammatory conditions of the appendix, renal failure, menstrual bleeding, abdominal pain of unknown etiology, intestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. Crohn's disease, intestinal ulceration), dehydration of the body and loss of electrolytes (mainly hypokalemia). Hypersensitivity to the raw material. Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity reactions to senescence (itching, hives, local or generalized rash) may occur. Senese leaf may cause abdominal pain and cramps and passage of liquid stools especially in patients with irritable bowel syndrome. The above symptoms can also occur as a consequence of overdose. In such cases, it is necessary to reduce the dose. Long-term use can cause water-electrolyte imbalance, as well as proteinuria and hematuria. With chronic use, pigment deposition in the intestinal mucosa (pseudomelanosis coli) may also occur, which usually disappears after discontinuation of the drug. During the treatment period, yellow or brownish-red colored urine (PH-dependent) may occur, which is not clinically significant.
