Description:
No-Spa is a medicinal product used for smooth muscle spasm associated with gastrointestinal diseases and painful menstruation.
Composition:
The active substance of the drug is drotaverin. 1 tablet contains 40 mg of drotaverin hydrochloride (Drotaverini hydrochloridum).
Excipients: corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, talc, povidone.
Dosage:
This drug should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults: daily dose: 120 to 240 mg, in 2-3 divided doses.
If it is necessary to use teku No-Spa in children:
▪️ daily dose for children aged 6 to 12 years: is 80 mg, in 2 divided doses
▪️ daily dose for children over 12 years of age: is 160 mg, in 2-4 divided doses
Action:
No-Spa contains drotaverine hydrochloride as an active substance. This substance is used in smooth muscle spasm of both nerve and muscle origin. The relaxant effect of drotaverin does not depend on the type of innervation and location of smooth muscles (gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, circulatory system and biliary tract).
No-Spa relieves painful spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract and reproductive tract.
Indications:
The drug No-Spa is used for:
▪️ in spasmodic conditions of smooth muscles associated with diseases of the biliary tract: cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, cholangitis, Vater's papillitis
▪️ in spasmodic conditions of smooth muscles of the urinary tract: kidney stones, urolithiasis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, painful urinary urgency
and supportively
▪️ in spasmodic conditions of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, in spasmodic conditions of the stomach gullet and pylorus, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic constipation and intestinal flatulence, pancreatitis
▪️in gynecological disorders: painful menstruation.
Contraindications:
When not to use the drug No-Spa:
▪️ if the patient is allergic to drotaverin or any of the other ingredients of this drug
▪️ if the patient has severe liver, kidney, or heart failure
▪️ if the patient has grade II-III atrioventricular block
Side effects:
Like any drug, this medication can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
Rare side effects (in no more than 1 person in 1000):
▪️ allergic reactions (vasomotor edema, hives, rash, pruritus)
▪️ headache and dizziness, insomnia
▪️ palpitations, decreased blood pressure
▪️ nausea, constipation
Warnings and precautions:
▪️ No-Spa drug contains lactose. If you have previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, you should contact your doctor before taking this medication
▪️ Use with caution in patients with hypotension
Use of other medications:
Tell your doctor about all medications you are currently or recently taking, as well as medications you plan to take.
Drotavirine weakens the effect of levodopa (a drug used in Parkinson's disease).
Use of the drug with food and drink:
No-Spa drug can be taken with or without meals.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, suspect you may be pregnant, or if you are planning to have a baby, you should consult your doctor before taking this drug. Drotavirine crosses the placenta.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents:
Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
Driving and operating machinery:
In therapeutic doses, the drug administered orally does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery. If dizziness occurs, avoid potentially dangerous activities, i.e. driving or operating machinery.
