Altacet is a medicinal product for use in tissue swelling and inflammation.
Composition:
The active substance is: aluminium acetate(Aluminii acetas tartras).
One tablet contains 1 g of aluminium acetate.
Excipients: boric acid, crospovidone, sodium stearoylfumarate.
Dosage:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Children from 3 to 6 years: apply 1 compress per day.
Adults: compresses, poultices and dressings should be applied at intervals of several hours so as not to allow them to dry out.
- The drug is intended only for the preparation of solutions for skin application.
- One tablet should be dissolved in 50 ml (about1/4 glass) of warm, boiled water. Use the prepared solution for poultices, compresses and dressings.
- Prepare a fresh solution before each use. Unused solution should be discarded.
Action:
Altacet has a topical astringent effect. It soothes pain within the post-traumatic focus of inflammation and symptoms of inflammatory reaction. Reduces swelling of tissues.
Indications:
- swelling of tissues,
- tissue and joint contusions.
Contraindications:
Do not use Altacet:
- if patient is allergic to aluminum acetate or any of the other components of the drug;
- on large or oozing wounds; on pathologically changed skin;
- long-term.
- Do not use orally!
Undesirable effects:
Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
Frequency unknown:
- local skin reactions.
Warnings and Precautions:
- Symptoms of skin maceration may occur when the drug is applied to large areas of skin or for prolonged use.
- Discontinue use of the medicinal product if symptoms of allergy or skin lesions occur.
- Avoid contact of the solution with the eyes and mucous membranes.
- Store the drug out of sight and reach of children.
- Store at temperatures below 25°C. Protect from moisture.
Use of other drugs:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently or recently taking and any medicines you plan to take, including over-the-counter medicines.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
For women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medication.
Breastfeeding women should not use the medicinal product for breast compresses, as this may cause harmful effects on the infant.
Application of the drug in children and adolescents:
Do not use in children under 3 years of age.
